10. In Memory of Lieutenant Albert Charles Blozis

Lieutenant Albert CharIes Blozis was born on 5 January 1919 in Garfield, New Jersey, USA.

Blozis was selected in the 5th round of the NFL draft of 1942 and played Offensive Tackle for the New York Giants in the National Football League.

He played for the Giants in 1942 and 1943, before enlisting. Posted to the 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division (United States), he joined A Company, 1st Battalion in Orbey at the end of January 1945.

He was killed here on 31 January 1945 during the battle of Noirmont and is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery in Saint-Avold, Moselle.
